Agreement Policy

  • A regular rental period is 4 days
  • You agree and acknowledge that you are renting an item for a limited time and that ownership of the item at all times remains with Stylestarter Boutique
  • Bookings made during COVID-19 pandemic are non-refundable. If your event is postponed, your booking will be transferred where possible. In the event of a cancellation or we are unable to transfer, an 18 month store credit will be issued
  • We accept bookings in advance, a booking is confirmed when the rental is paid in full or a $50 non-refundable deposit is paid
  • In-store: the rental is due back on the rental end date during opening hours. If our boutique is closed on return date (Mondays after 2pm and Public Holidays), return the next day
  • Post: rentals must be posted back the next business day using the provided return label and satchel at a NZ Post office
  • Customers are expected to notify Stylestarter urgently if there is a delay in returning the rental 
  • Late returns incur a late fee of $30 per day after the bookings last day. The fee will be charged at return, invoiced or charged to the card on file
  • If failure to return a dress on time results in a cancelled booking for the next customer, you will be responsible to cover 100% of the cost for the cancelled rental.
  • Not returning a rental within 1 week of the bookings last day without notice, will be treated as a "non-return". Stylestarter will charge 150% of the recommended retail value. The customer will be contacted and the card on file will be charged, and if unsuccessful, referred to a debt collection agency
  • Customers will be responsible for any legal costs related to the return of a garment or outstanding fees. This includes but is not limited to debt collection fees and other associated expenses
  • We offer nationwide shipping through NZ POST
  • Express (1-3 working day target): $22 including return 
  • Rural (3-5 working day target): $25 including return 
  • Sale items (overnight): $10 not including return 
  • Same day delivery within the Auckland Metro area is available, please contact us to arrange 
  • There is a $10 fee to trying dresses on, if successful this fee will be applied as a credit toward your rental
  • There is no limit on the number of dresses you can try on 
  • The try-on appointment lasts 60 minutes
  • If you need to reschedule your appointment, the paid fee will be transferred to the new time slot
  • 'No Show' appointments are not eligible for refund. A store credit will be issued for the appointment fee.
  • Complimentary alteration or existing booking appointments are available; contact us to make a reservation
  • You are responsible for repair fees if you damage a dress during a try-on, and the charges will be applied immediately
  • Failure to book at your appointment will result in a $10 store credit being issued, which remains valid for 7 days
  • A non-refundable $50 cancellation fee applies to all cancelled bookings 
  • If you cancel more than 7 days before your event: full refund less $50 cancellation fee and $10 try-on fee (if applicable)
  • If you cancel within 7 days of your event: store credit less $50 cancellation fee valid for 12 months 
  • Within 48 hours of collection or delivery date: no refund or store credit
  • Last minute rentals: orders placed less than 3 days before the rental start date. Stylestarter is not responsible for any post delays caused by NZ POST. No refunds on last minute rentals. 
  • Postal Try Ons: non-refundable after item dispatch. Unsuccessful try-ons receive a store credit of the try-on fee (less postage). 
  • Stylestarter reserves the right to cancel a booking at short notice. Reasons for cancellation may include (but are not limited to) an item not being available due to late return by a previous customer or damage to an item. Stylestarter will endeavour to provide as much notice as possible. In the event of a cancellation by Stylestarter, Stylestarter offers a full refund, store credit or the option to change the booking to another item. 

    We do not issue refunds if the garment does not fit, it is unworn, or for change of mind. 
  • This service is exclusively available for customers outside of Auckland
  • Postal try-ons are dispatched throughout the weekdays, excluding weekends
  • Kindly inform us of your event date upon booking to secure the reservation of your desired style until your try-on session

    Stylestarter reserves the right to reschedule or cancel a postal try-on at short notice. Reasons for cancellation may include (but are not limited to) an item not being available due to late return by a previous customer or damage to an item. Stylestarter will endeavour to provide as much notice as possible. In the event of a cancellation by Stylestarter, Stylestarter offers a full refund, store credit or the option to change the booking to another item. 
  • We expect our customers to take reasonable care of the rented item and as such, are responsible for all loss, damage, staining or destruction to the garment from the date of collection until return.
  • Upon return, we will assess each garment, and if we find any damage or staining, we will charge the appropriate amount based on the value of the damage or additional cleaning required. If the garment is irreparably damaged and requires replacement, by accepting these terms, you authorise Stylestarter or our agent to bill you 150% of the retail value
  • Our prices include a standard clean by our professional dry-cleaner. Treatments for excessive marks or stains may have additional fees
  • All damage fees must be paid within one week of notification. Unpaid amounts after this date may result in Stylestarter taking necessary steps, including legal action and/or using third-party collection agencies 
  • Items available to rent at Stylestarter are items that have been worn previously and are professionally cleaned. Stylestarter engages qualified dry-cleaners and seamstresses for item cleaning, mending and repairs. The condition of rental items are "as new" or "near new". We encourage customers to inspect garments prior to renting. Due to the nature of the item being worn multiple times, there may be minor visible repairs and imperfections. For this reason, we cannot guarantee the condition of a garment will be exactly the same as when you first tried it on or when booked in advance.
  • Customers agree not to attempt to clean rentals. If the customer attempts to clean a rental and it results in permanent damage, additional fees may incur

By renting a garment or booking a try-on, I accept the terms and conditions.

I authorise Stylestarter to charge the provided credit card or PayPal as per the terms above. This authorisation is only for the specified goods/services and the indicated amount. I confirm that I am an authorised user of the credit card/PayPal and won't dispute the payment, provided it aligns with the terms stated in this form.

If Stylestarter doesn't receive payment from your credit card provider, or if your credit card expires or is rejected, you agree to pay all amounts upon demand. If any payable amounts remain unpaid after 7 days from the demand date, Stylestarter may charge the outstanding fees and other amounts due to us using any credit card you have on file, including the one specified above.
